Why a Wedding Videographer is a Must Have!
I just want to start this post by saying that the “must have” the title refers to, does not mean it's 100% necessary to spend thousands of dollars on a videographer for your wedding. You could hire your Aunt Susan with her I-Pad if you think you will be satisfied with the results. Yes, there will be a definite difference in quality when you hire a professional, but for now, I want to focus on why simply having a videographer is so important.
For many, a wedding day is considered one of the most, if not the most important day of one's life. Yet, so often we hear, “it was here and gone in a flash” or “it was a total blur”. The importance lies in what is actually happening - that you are vowing to spend the rest of your life with the one you love, your best friend. The fact is, the flowers, the details and the food, while all very important, fade from memory after your day. However, by hiring a videographer, those memories last a lifetime. For some reason though, getting a video is sometimes one of the last items on the budget list. SO, here are the reasons a wedding videographer should top that list!
1. Relive the Memories: This reason cannot be emphasized enough!!! It is insane the amount of feedback we receive about how much couples treasure their wedding videos. My husband and I are no exception. We’ve started a tradition where we get a DQ blizzard and watch our wedding video on our anniversary! It is just such an incredibly special keepsake, and a great reminder of the promises made on your day (and can actually help keep that candle burning strong!)
2. The vows, music and speeches cannot be photographed: There are simply some things that are uniquely made possible through videography. So many of the most intimate moments of your special day are filled with heartfelt communication. Having a wedding video, professionally created in a way that captures the highlights of your treasured moments and the feelings shared during the day between friends and family, brings the experience to an entirely different level.
3. Your friends and family will adore it!!! : While a wedding video is extremely special for a couple, it is also a terrific way to allow loved ones that couldn't be present, to share in the experience with you. And honestly, the ones that did make will want to relive the moments as well! I mean, who doesn’t adore all the love, laughter and emotion of a loved ones wedding day!!
4. Avoid the REGRET!!!! : We hear it all the time. Couples who opted not to hire a videographer, later on wish they had chosen to do so. The simple fact of the matter is that we humans cherish memories and there is no better way to capture them then through video. Don’t put yourself in a situation of “what could have been”. If your budget allows, then a video is a no-brainer. But even on a tight budget, IT IS possible! There are so many ways to get creative and save money (that’ll be a post for another time).
At the end of the day, these are just choices - not life altering ones - but ones to think about before the day comes and goes.
