Now let’s get one thing straight! I am certainly not one to get all soft and gooshie, BUT, sometimes it's important to display a bit of love and thankfulness!
I have to admit, being an entrepreneur, I often have a one-track mind. Focusing on shoots, deadlines, and worrying about what the future will hold.
This past week, my husband and I had a little mini vacation in the Cape Breton Highlands to celebrate our anniversary. During our time away I had the opportunity to step away from all the distractions and busyness, to just BE STILL. Between relaxing on the beach, enjoying incredible food (check out the Rusty Anchor if your ever in pleasant bay), hiking, and soaking in the quality time with my husband, I realized just how much there is to be thankful for, and the importance of renewing your mind. I was reminded of what I vowed to Paul 2 years ago. I promised to always encourage him to walk in God’s purpose for his life & to follow him as he follows Christ into the UNKNOWN & BEAUTIFUL future. Its easy to lose site of that in the hustle and bustle of everyday life. I mean lets be real, the unknown can be scary sometimes. However, I know if I keep my thoughts focused on all the fears and doubts, then my actions are going to display it, and I won’t fulfill that promise I made to Paul. Not to mention that by worrying, I won’t add a single hour to my life.
So, my advice if your reading this, is to take intentional time for renewal, whatever that looks like. It could be exercise, music, reading a good book, or going for a hike. For me, I want to focus on that promise. I want to do whatever it takes to keep my eyes forward and focused on what matters most, to seek first God’s kingdom as a team in everything Paul and I do, and trust that good fruit will produce in all aspects of ours lives, including this business!
