What's Your Father's Name Eh? - The Martin Impact

So, so often when Paul and I are out, someone will recognize Paul, and say “wow you look so familiar, who are you parents”. As soon as we inform them that he is a Martin, the response that often follows is “oh my God, yeeeees I know the Martins”, along with some sort of compliment about the family. And as I sit here reflecting on that, I realize that this is a result of the character that has taken route within the Martin household!
I’d like to shed light on that character by highlighting my 3 sister's in law (Frances, Rachael and Bethany aka Fran, Ray Ray and Boo), who I got to take out for Ray’s birthday shoot last week. The thing I love most about the Martins is that they leave a mark on your life. You’re left remembering the encounter you’ve had in a positive way. Not to mention, they LOVE TO LAUGH!! Not only is the notorious “Martin laugh” an actual thing (more of a cackle really), but it’s totally contagious, and they’ll make you feel like you’re the most hilarious person in the room!
If you’ve met Fran, it’s probably because she approached you and made you feel welcome, loved and valued. When she speaks, you feel at peace, because she is calm and compassionate. There is no favoritism in Fran’s eyes. She sees beauty in everybody and treats everyone as her equal.
You would remember Ray Ray by her beautiful, warm smile, by her kind serving heart, and through her soft demeanor. She is literally always willing to lend a hand. It could be for a chore like painting or helping someone move, or babysitting, or simply baking a treat to make someone smile during a difficult time!
Boo is the baby of the house! She’s passionate and fiery, but it manifests in a gentle way. She wears her emotions on her sleeve. Not only her own emotions, but she feels what others are going through. She’s empathetic. Through joyful celebration, or pain and sorrow, Bethany shares in your emotion with you!  She is a teacher and a listener, and an advocate for justice!
While all three of these ladies have such unique personalities, the content of their character is a reflection of their foundation....that being their parents! They have instilled in them, discipline and obedience, respect, kindness, unity and love. And their children have brought those characteristics into their adult lives!
Anyyyyways, I’m just totally blessed that I got to marry into this incredible family. That these three sistas have become some of my best friends, and they get to now rub off on me. I hope you enjoy looking through my shoot with them, and get a true sense of the bond they share with each other, and the world around them!

Amy Macleod Wilk, one of my dearest friends who is ALWAYS up for an adventure. If it involves nature, friends, and a camera you can count this gal in! So happy she joined me on this sisssta's shoot! We had a blast getting eatin by fly's and freezing our tooshies off while we shot next to the beautiful wavy ocean.. BUT the sunset was well worth it!

Amy is one heck of a talented and very creative photographer, so glad we had a chance to shoot together! Be sure to check her out on Instagram @suzziewilkstills and visit her website to see some of her work - https://www.suzziewilkstills.com/
